Artist Talk with David Heustess

Get to know artist and educator David Heustess as he shares the journey from his early life as a modern dancer to his current practice as a multidisciplinary craft artist. Based in Nashville, David works in clay, fiber, and beadwork, drawing inspiration from both movement and nature. He earned his BFA in Clay and Fiber Arts from the Appalachian Center for Craft in 1995 and now directs a gallery and community arts program at Vanderbilt University. A passionate teacher, David regularly leads workshops for the Handweavers Guild of America, the MidAtlantic Fiber Association, and the John C. Campbell Folk School—sharing his love for traditional techniques and creative exploration.
