Craft a stunning wall hanging in this two-day beginner-friendly class while you learn to combine two magical techniques – eco printing and needle felting!
On Day 1, you’ll dive into eco-printing, using plant materials to transfer prints from nature onto an 18″ x 24″ piece of raw silk. You’ll also learn how to use a dye blanket to add a colorful background to your design. Then, while you wash and dry your fabric at home, you’ll decide whether to add a bluebird, chickadee, or cardinal to embellish your piece.
On Day 2, you’ll learn to needle felt your chosen bird (or birds!) onto your printed fabric, adding shapes, colors, and details just where you want them. Finally, you’ll explore finishing techniques for displaying your piece as a wall hanging or transforming it into a pillow. If time allows, Theresa will help you complete your wall hanging using her equipment and your driftwood hanger.
You’ll leave with a unique mixed-media project and the confidence to combine textile techniques. Unleash your creativity and create something magical!
