Make it Your Way Basket: An Introduction to Basket Weaving
Discover the timeless craft of basket weaving in this relaxing, hands-on class, where you'll learn to create your very own wood-based basket. Led by expert instructor Bev Larson, whose passion for weaving spans over three decades, this class offers a welcoming environment for beginners and seasoned weavers alike.
Throughout the session, you'll start with a wooden base of your choice and learn the fundamentals of inserting spokes, twining, and weaving your way through the process. From there, the creative fun begins—you'll have the opportunity to choose your colors, patterns, and the size of your basket, all while exploring different handle options to personalize your piece. By the end of the class, you'll leave with a unique, finished basket to proudly enjoy.
Bev Larson, a skilled weaver since 1988 and an experienced instructor since 1999, brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to every class she teaches. Having shared her craft across the U.S.—from Indiana to Texas, Florida to New Mexico—and even on Basket Weaving Cruises in the Caribbean, Bev has taught thousands of students the joys of weaving. Her dedication to the craft was recognized in 2016 when she was named an Indiana Artisan for both basket weaving and broom making. With Bev as your guide, you'll not only learn a new skill but experience the joy of weaving in a supportive, creative setting.
