Please join us to learn about Margaret Radcliffe’s journey through the U.S. Heritage Sheep Breeds. Margaret has been studying endangered U.S. sheep since 2019, exploring the unique characteristics and challenges of each breed. Her talk will chronicle her findings and experiences, highlighting the distinctive traits of selected breeds and the successes and obstacles she encountered. She’ll also provide insights into The Livestock Conservancy’s Shave ’Em to Save ’Em program, an initiative to preserve these rare breeds through increased awareness and support.

Margaret Radcliffe, author of bestsellers like The Knitting Answer Book and Circular Knitting Workshop, has been a professional designer since 1997 and a knitting teacher since 1991. Renowned for her skill in fostering independence and creativity among knitters, Maggie has taught at notable venues including the John C. Campbell Folk School and Houston Fiber Fest. With a diverse career background—spanning Medieval Studies, computer programming, and dance—she now focuses on spinning and designing with heritage sheep breeds.
